Tef Poe Travels to London to Take on BBC's HARDtalk and to Build Solidarity with British Activists

Tef Poe hits BBC HARDtalk

Last week, Hands Up United's Tef Poe traveled to London to sit in on BBC's chart topping (as in 225 million people) HARDtalk.  A hard hitting interview style show, Tef, short for Teflon Poet, answered questions about social media, Oprah, and violence in Ferguson. The show airs Wednesday, Feb 18th.  We'll be sure to post an embed video as soon as we get it.

Of course, like any trip he takes, Tef didn't just go to meet with press.  The St. Louis representative also had an extensive schedule that saw him meeting with activist groups like Stand Up to Racism, Occupy London, Unite Against Fascism, Rainbow Coalition Against Racism, Love Music Hate Racism, United Friends and Family and the London Black Revolutionaries.

Look for this Hands Up United representative to be giving us further updates about his trip across the pond.  And who knows, he might just be headed back there sooner than later.

Ferguson's Tef Poe with Jon Snow from Channel 4

Tef Poe linked up with Channel 4's legendary Jon Snow who recently spoke out against the attacks in Gaza. Jon linked Tef with a show in Brixton, apparently Jon has been a long time fan of Tef's music.

Tef Poe stands with members of London's grassroots United Families and Friends.  Although British people are less likely to get killed by police during an arrest than Americans, Tef was surprised to learn that an unusually large number of people of color are killed in custody. Guess hate is universal.

Tef was able to link up with the London Black Revolutionaries who are about that life for real.  They are currently occupying an 100 unit apartment building in London, and took Tef on an exclusive tour.
