Run the Jewels’ video for “Early” marks the second-straight politically charged clip the duo have released. It follows the borderline graphic — and at times surreal — “Close Your Eyes” visual, and it’s vaguely similar: A series of civilian run-ins with the police illustrate the message that relations between the people and po-po remain fraught. However, “Early” chooses animation over live-action, yet its color scheme is almost as stark and desolate-feeling. “Early” will still make you want to punch a hole through a goddamn wall, even if Boots is way more soothing that Zack de la Rocha.
